The Shanghai Auto Show 2021 has been the event chosen by the Japanese firm to present the new generation of the Nissan X-Trail. This is still the Nissan Rogue that was presented last year in North America, so the only news are the change of name and the announcement of its arrival on the European market.

At the moment we only have a few images of this new generation of the Japanese crossover, although these completely reveal both the interior and the exterior of the model, of which its 7-seater capacity has been confirmed, with the usual third row divided into two seats. retractable that can be hidden in the floor to increase the cargo volume of the trunk.

At the moment we do not have the specifications of the new Nissan X-Trail 2022 that will arrive in Europe, but we do have its estimated date of arrival, in summer 2022, and also its main mechanical novelty, because like the new Nissan Qashqai, its The 7-seater older brother will feature Nissan's new e-Power technology.

Nissan e-power

We have already talked about the e-Power versions when they were presented with the new generation of the Nissan Qashqai, because instead of a conventional hybrid variant it is an electrical mechanical scheme that is powered by the energy generated by a combustion engine. In the case of the Qashqai, it is a 1.5-liter three-cylinder block that is not connected to the wheels, but serves as an electric generator to power the batteries or directly to the electric motor that drives the front axle.

On the face of it, the new 2022 Nissan X-Trail does not really differ from the Nissan Rogue that was presented several months ago, which is not surprising, since the previous generations of the Rogue and X-Trail were basically twin brothers. Nor do we expect changes between the variant that will be marketed in China and that is the one that appears in the upper image gallery and the model that will be available on the European market from next year.
