Exclusive: preview of the future electric saloon that Skoda will launch in 2025

From 2022, Skoda will step on the accelerator in the development and expansion of its range of electric cars. The Czech firm has big plans ahead for a very interesting future that will explode in the middle of the decade, starting in 2025. The Mladá Boleslav brand keeps the secret of a new electric saloon, which we anticipate in this recreation.

The future of Skoda is also electric. The Czech brand is in one of the best moments in its history accumulating large sales figures, and expects them to be higher with its new range of electric cars. The firm has the Enyaq iV, a family-style SUV that will soon be complemented by a more sporty body, that of the Enyaq iV Coupé.

But the house of Mladá Boleslav has more projects in hand. One of them we anticipated exclusively just a few weeks ago, an electric compact that will arrive as an alternative to the Volkswagen ID.3 and the CUPRA Born for 2024, which we anticipate in a recreation. However, it will not be the only one, since the firm has a more sophisticated project behind the scenes, which it keeps a secret and that we anticipate in this new render: an electric saloon for 2025.

Skoda prepares its electric room, a saloon for 2025

A model that will be positioned between the Octavia and the Superb, with dimensions somewhat larger than the first and that, therefore, will bring the second closer, since the D-segment sedans are easier to sell than the compact ones, which have practically disappeared. The future electric saloon of the brand from the Czech Republic will bet on an avant-garde design and with a more sporty style at the rear.

A very stylized roof line that will fall with more force creating a more sporty silhouette, will be the main hallmark seen from the side, where it will also maintain the shape of the glass surface, with the peak of the rear fixed glass. Front and rear, it will inherit the typical features of the firm's models, with finer headlights, both front and rear. The future electric saloon will also offer ample interior space, and a newly designed dashboard, betting on a minimalist design.

Considered a top of the range, the model will be one of the first to use the new scalable platform SSP from the German group. For Skoda, the priority is compact electric, so this model will be delayed until 2025 and thus benefit from advanced technologies such as 800 Volt charging. This new platform will offer front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions, as well as a new generation of batteries with a higher capacity of 77 kWh and 550 kilometers.
